An aphrodisiac is a substance which is used in the belief that it increases sexual desire. The name, not surprisingly, comes from Aphrodite-the Greek goddess of sensuality. Many common foods are used as aphrodisiacs. Wonder whether there's any scientific proves on this? Yes, there is. Chocolate
Chocolate is often associated with romance and passion. I'm sure you've heard about that many times, right? Chocolate contains a chemical called phenylethylamine. It's released naturally in the human body when you're in love. It releases "feel good" endorphins. Chocolate also contains dopamine which is a natural painkiller and serotonin which produces feelings of pleasure. The melting point of chocolate is slightly below our body temperature so it gives a pleasurable sensory experience when it melts in the mouth.
Oysters
Oysters, the cliché of all aphrodisiac foods. Oysters are rich in zinc which is needed for testosterone production Zinc (controls progesterone levels, which have a positive effect on the libido) and improves sexual potency in men. Testosterone is also thought to increase libido in women. Oysters resemble female genitals which will get your man going. Many believe that oysters were originally labeled "aphrodisiac" because of their shape. Upon close inspection, they somewhat resemble the female sex organ. This could be a reason why people in the past associated mussels with sexuality. Sexual appetite, more often than not, starts in the mind rather than in the body, so oysters could have a psychological effect on the libido.
Banana
Due not only to its shape, but also its creamy, lush texture, some studies show its enzyme bromelain enhances male performance. Bananas are rich in potassium and Vitamin B, which are great for producing sex hormones. They're also an aphrodisiac because of their phallic shape (surprise, surprise).
Avocado
The Aztecs called the avocado tree a testicle tree because the avocados hang in pairs and look at bit like testicles! They're also rich in vitamins D and E, which help the body release energy from food, so you'll have more stamina for the bedroom!
Asparagus
It has an obvious phallic shape, but asparagus is also rich in potassium and vitamin A which boosts your sex drive. Asparagus also contains vitamin E which is needed in the production of sex hormones.

Haha I know what I'm having for dinner on my next date. Which by the way I have a problem with my Vitamin D level and I love avocados even though i am a little allergic. Depending on the ripeness. I should eat more avocados.
