Be friends with happy people...

Read the quote above and tell me what you think. Agree or not? Logically, the quote is true. you can't choose you relatives or relations but friends..oh yeah you can choose who your friends are. You can choose those people who you want to be friends with and those who don't. It's not about being a picky person when it comes to make friends with people, but it's about making friends who can bring the best of yourself. Be friends with people who can give positive effect for you. And when you already a happy person, find ways to be friends with other people so you can share happiness with them. I always believe that happiness is contagious, when you're with happy people, you'll be happy too. But when you're with those people who always bring negative thoughts on everything, your mind will automatically think about the negative things also. Read the article below about the effect that you can get by be friends with happy people.
Happier Friends, Happier You

Happy people tend to be found in the company of other happy people, while unhappy people are likely to spend time with unhappy people. You are probably saying, "Yes, that's right." You may have thought about this relationship before, or you may just now be scanning through a mental list of people you know and finding the correlation. Either way, it is a matter of personal experience that both happy and unhappy people tend to mingle with others having a similar degree of happiness. Why is this true? Are happiness and unhappiness infectious?
Several factors are at work. First, let's say that I am an unhappy and negative person. I depress the emotions of those with whom I come in contact. As a result, happy positive people try to avoid me as much as they can, while unhappy people, plus any previously happy people who are bound to me through family or career, are further depressed by contact with me. I tend to feel uncomfortable around happy people because I'm jealous of their happiness, while I create a misery-loves-company kind of bond with other unhappy people.
If I am a happy person, all this works in reverse. I uplift the emotions of those I come in contact with. As a result, happy positive people love being in my company. Unhappy people, however, either respond to my joyful positivity, thus beginning their journey toward their own happiness, or they find themselves feeling frustrated and jealous, and sever their relationship with me. I become even happier when I am around other happy people, while I tend to feel uncomfortable around unhappy people, and will tend to avoid them to the extent that doing so does not conflict with my commitment toward those people.
People sort themselves into groups of happy people and unhappy people through two different, but complementary mechanisms, influence and affinity. I influence those around me with my emotional state, either happy or unhappy. At the same time, I feel an affinity for others who are like me in some way - in this case by sharing my emotional outlook on life.
While we can observe the effect of clusters of happy and unhappy people in our lives, quantifying this effect is beyond our personal experience. A large-scale long-term research study published in 2008 by James Fowler of UC San Diego and Nicholas Christakis of Harvard Medical School documented the profound effect a happy, or unhappy, person has on their acquaintances. This study showed that you are 15 percent more likely to be happy because you are in contact with someone who is happy; 10 percent if a friend of a friend is happy; and 6 percent if a friend of a friend of a friend is happy. Just think about that - your own happiness has a measurable effect on the happiness of the friends of the friends of your friends. What an amazing power you hold! In addition, the study revealed that while unhappiness is also infectious, an unhappy person doesn't exert the same influence over large groups as a happy person does. I visualize this difference with the example of a candle being brought into a dark cave. The candle illuminates the darkness rather than the darkness snuffing out the candle.

As a happy person, you radiate happiness to the world. While the study only measured the effect to the third level of acquaintance, visualize your light radiating throughout the world, passing from person to person until the whole earth is uplifted by your happiness.

Confuse with the politics ideology? I'm sure you know that there are lots of political views and for me it's not easy to understand it. But just now, I found this explanations about different political views. It makes it easier for us to understand in a funny kind of ways...

  • FASCISM: You have two cows. The government takes both, hires you to take care of them and sells you the milk.
  • PURE COMMUNISM: You have two cows. Your neighbors help you take care of them, and you all share the milk.
  • RUSSIAN COMMUNISM: You have two cows. You have to take care of them, but the government takes all the milk.

Small space...

I have a claustrophobia and I am really sure about that. Claustrophobia is one of the most common phobias and it is characterized by panic that is a result of being in enclosed spaces. I have this fear of being in a small and closed space even though the space is safe. The name claustrophobia comes from the Latin word claustrum which means "a bolt, a place shut in" and the Greek word phobos meaning "fear". Sometimes when I'm in an elevator and I have to go up really high, I got panic, especially when I'm there with strangers. In that kind of situation, I always feel that my heart is bumping so fast and I start to get dizzy. All I want to do is get myself out of the elevator and just breath the air outside the elevator. Another example is when I'm inside a very small car, oh God..I always feel like I can't breath as if I'll never got myself out of that car. The other example is when my body got stuck in a dress. I got panic easily when I try a dress with no zip on it, and when I try to take it out, it seems to be stuckin my body. Oh how I hate that feeling. My sister know about how panic I can be about this dress thingy. But everyone else who knows me aware that I have a claustrophobia. I can't imagine if I have to be inside an MRI scanner. Panic attack will come to me for sure. I really hope I can overcome this fear and get rid of this phobia. So here I am searching about what Claustrophobia really is..



Causes of Claustrophobia
Claustrophobia can develop from either a traumatic childhood experience (such as being trapped in a small space during a childhood game), or from another unpleasant experience later on in life involving confined spaces (such as being stuck in an elevator). When an individual experiences such an event, it can often trigger a panic attack; this response then becomes programmed in the brain, establishing an association between being in a tight space and feeling anxious or out-of-control. As a result, the person often develops claustrophobia.


Claustrophobia symptoms can include:

  • sweating
  • accelerated heartbeat
  • nausea
  • fainting
  • light-headedness
  • shaking
  • hyperventilation
  • a fear of actual imminent physical harm

Some common situations that can cause anxiety in claustrophobia sufferers include:

  • Being inside a room: the individual will look for an exit, for example, at a movie theatre
  • Being inside a car: the individual will avoid driving on the highway or major roads where there is heavy traffic
  • Being inside a building: the individual will avoid taking elevators
  • Being at a party: the individual will stand near a door
  • Being on an airplane
  • While undergoing an MRI or CAT scan (also referred to as MRI claustrophobia and CAT scan claustrophobia, respectively)
  • In extreme cases, the very sight of a closed door can lead to feelings of anxiety in the individual. Claustrophobia can have crippling social and psychological effects since the patient will often avoid situations in which she thinks she will have an anxiety attack, leading to isolation and depression.

Theories of Claustrophobia

Claustrophobia is a fairly mysterious disorder. It doesn't appear in the annals of medicine until the 1870s. A French physician working in Paris wrote of two people who reported feeling anxious when they were inside their apartments with the doors closed. These cases emerged when Paris was rapidly urbanizing -- more people were crowding into the city, and life was getting cramped. Shortly after these cases were documented, a similar case developed in a man who lived in New York just as that city was becoming more urbanized. Some theorists postulate that claustrophobia resulted from the rise of the modern city. The theory makes sense; after all, was there such a thing as fear of flying (aviatophobia) before airplanes existed? So there could be many more claustrophobes in the world than current estimates predict, given that half of the global population lives in cities.



Claustrophobia Treatment

There is no cure for claustrophobia, however, there are several forms of treatment that can help an individual control her condition. Treatment for claustrophobia can include behavior therapy, exposure therapy, drugs or a combination of several treatments.
Behavior therapy includes identifying trigger points and recognizing that one's reactions to these triggers are learned instead of natural; through visualization and positive thinking, the individual learns to disassociate feelings of danger with the confined space.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a type of behavior therapy that deconstructs the individual's preconceived view of reality, reducing the anxiety provoked by a specific situation or setting. Flooding is a type of exposure treatment in which the individual is exposed to a situation until the anxiety attack passes; a less extreme form of exposure treatment is counter-conditioning. Counter-conditioning includes behavior therapy, as the individual is taught visualization and relaxation techniques before being slowly reintroduced to the trigger situation.
Medications prescribed to help treat claustrophobia include anti-depressants and beta-blockers, which help to relieve the heart pounding often associated with anxiety attacks. Alternative claustrophobia treatments include regression hypnotherapy, in which hypnotherapy is used to remember the traumatic event that led to the individual's claustrophobia. The patient is taught to see the event with ‘adult' eyes, which helps to decrease the sense of panic that it has instilled into their minds.

The movie..

Finally I was able to get the ticket and watched Transformers 2. Last week all the cinemas were full by those who wanted to see Transformers 2. I'm not a big fan of the movie but since I watched the first one, I guess I'll have to see the sequel and see it for myself whether it's a good movie or not. I'm not really into robot movies or things like that but when I watched this movie last night, I didn't realize that the length of the movie was about 2 hours. I guess I can say that it's an entertaining movie considering that I can sat there nicely on the cinema for 2 hours watching robots, cars chasing and killing one another. And for sure I can say that Megan Fox is really sexy. Have you watched the movie?

The lady who made this is very creative. I can see that this kind of soap will be a very good gift idea to give to someone, don't you think? But of course you must write a "don't eat" note..ha ha...I'm sure everyone will get confused whether or not it's edible...

Imagination

Many people say that your mind creates your life. Do you have a mind full of imagination? Do you imagine often? There are times where I have imaginations about how I want my life to be and how I want to live my life. Imagination is good in a way that you don't exaggerate your imagination. Imagination can do you good as long as you have the idea on how to grab and get your imagination. For me, an imagination is somewhat an expectation about your future. It's like having a book of your future and by that you keep your imagination in the book and promise to yourself that you'll live in your world of imagination someday in your life.

Panda..

Look how cute panda can be. No wonders the movie Kung Fu Panda uses Panda as its main character. Because for sure children will love it.
Here some facts about Panda:
  • Pandas live in and around mountainous slopes and exist on a diet largely comprised of bamboo shoots. They eat most of the day to consume the food they need for survival
  • The Giant Panda is white and black. An adult can grow to 3 1/2 to five feet and weigh up to 350 pounds.


  • The giant panda is listed as endangered in the World Conservation Union's (IUCN's) Red List of Threatened Animals. It is one of the most critically endangered species in the world. There are about 1,000 left in the wild.
  • Adult giant pandas are generally solitary, but they do communicate periodically through scent marks, calls, and occasional meetings.
  • Offspring stay with their mothers from one and a half to three years.

So long Michael Jackson...

Michael Jackson, the 'King of Pop,' dies at age 50. hat's the news I heard on all over the newspaper and TV this morning. As one source stated that Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted child star who rose to become the "King of Pop" and the biggest celebrity in the world only to fall from his throne in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday. He was 50. Click here for the complete news. I was a bit shocked knowing about the news.



I used to be one of his fans. You know, as a kid, we all have one idol, right? And my idol was not Madonna but Michael Jackson, especially when the "Black and White" song was out. I still remember the music video in which McCaulay Culkin was also in the video. It really was Michael Jackson's era. Now I am a huge fan of his sister, Janet Jackson. Well, I guess God has His own plan. No matter what Michael Jackson has done, what matter is our prayer for him. So long Michael.

FOUND! Another great photographer, Chris Crayme. Chris Crayme is a London-born photographer who recently launched his his new book called Romance. He said that romance was the perfect vehicle to make pictures which can covey a number of emotions. I really agree with the statement. Look at the photos he has made...full of LoVe, FuN and JoY...Love it..

For once in my life live

This is a song by Tony Bennett and Stevie Wonder. I start my say at the office this morning, and I turn on my computer, put a shuffle mode on my mp3 player and this was the first song that the player played. It's been a while since I last heard this song. And now I just realized that the opening song of the day can really make your day.This song is so soothing and gives me a relaxing mood to start the day. The duet of Tony Bennett and Stevie Wonder is so amazing and the lyrics of the song is oh-so wonderful. Hope you can sing along too=)

I love all the works created by Tim Burton. And I love to see Johnny Depp's acting, for me he can be anyone in different kinds of movie. Funny movie, serious movie, cartoon, dark movie and other movies. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are like this dynamic duo. They always come in pair. And of course they can make a really good quality movie. Tim Burton's story combined with Johnny Depp's amazing acting can be this wonderful package that you can't be missed out. I really adore both men.

Tim Burton himself is a really unique person who can really stands out among the crowd. He's an American film director, producer, writer and artist. His famous movies include Edward Scissorhand, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman, Sleepy Hollow, Planet of the Apes, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Corpse Bride and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Here you can see that most of his movies were played by Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.








I've watched all of his movies. My favorites are Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Corpse Bride and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. And this morning, I just found out that he will have an upcoming movie of Alice in Wonderland. Oh my God...I really can't wait until the movie comes. Trust me...the movie will be an amazing one. O and one more thing..of course..it will be played by Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

A good friend of mine send me an e-mail this morning about the beauty of a woman. Now I'm passing it along for all the beautiful women out there. Always remember that you are beautiful, inside and outside. Learn to appreciate yourself so that other people will appreciate you. Glow as bright as you can be so you will be able to share your lights to other women around you. Colors of the room

Bright and bold colors to brighten up your mood when you're at home. I know for sure that one day if I have my own house, I will have at least one room that I will decorate with colorful and bright colors. While also having at least one room that I decorate with soft and calm colors. A colorful living room or TV/Media room would be nice and the softer one will be appropriate for reading room. That's how I imagine the interior design of my house. And how about the kitchen? For sure it will be black and white. Simple and classic colors for kitchen.

Optimist or Pessimist?

Last time I had a small talk with someone about people who often bring negative thoughts in their life. Not negative acts in a sense that they're doing something bad but more in a way that the person always have a pessimistic thought about the things we want to do or we have done. I can relate that more into their behaviour and their pessimistic way of viewing and living their life. I was not gossiping about the person who often bring pessimistic influence but I was just trying to figure out the reason why such a person can have that negative thought about almost everything. It really is an opposite side of me.
I always see something in a positive way and try as hard as I can to always be on the optimistic side of life. I guess it's important that you always be able to be an optimist in everything that you do, because in that way, you will be able to encourage yourself to do things better. And you will also have faith that you can do anything that you wish to do. Don't you think it's good? I do. I believe that optimistic and pessimistic are really contagious. I suggest that we should be surrounded with those who have optimistic thought in their mind, while on the other hand we must be able to help our 'pessimistic' friends and drag them out of their negative thoughts so they will also have courage and belief that they can do it.

I have been giving some thought lately to optimism and pessimism. Basically, these are attitudes. Attitudes that shape and formulate our entire existence. I mean, have you ever met a happy pessimist? Of course not.
In short, our optimism or pessimism is this:
- The way we interpret the past
- The way we experience and view the present
- The way we imagine the future

Have you given much thought about how your attitude, whether you are an optimist or a pessimist, affects you business, organization or school? Have you thought about how it affects you personally? And what about the team you are a part of?

What is optimism? It is a belief that things in our past were good for us, even if that means they were hard and taught us lessons. It is also the belief that things will be better in the future. Here are some contrasts between optimism and pessimism and how they affect us:
  • Optimism breathes life into you each day
  • Pessimism drains you
  • Optimism helps you to take needed risks
  • Pessimism plays it safe and never accomplishes much
  • Optimism improves those around you
  • Pessimism drags them down
  • Optimism inspires people to great heights
  • Pessimism deflates people to new lows
There is only one way that optimism and pessimism are the same and that is that they are both self-fulfilling. If you are an optimist, you will generally find that good things happen to you. And if you are a pessimist, you will find yourself in the not-so-good situations more often than not. So can a person just become an optimist? Yes! We can choose to look at the world any way we want to. We can choose to look at the world and think the worst, or we can tell ourselves the good things about each situation. As you find yourself looking at your enterprise, begin to view it through the eyes of an optimist, and you will reap the rewards listed above, and so will the people around you.

There are tremendous benefits to being an optimist, as stated above. But there are some pessimists out there who will say, “But that isn’t realistic.” I say “Who cares?” If things go awry, at least I have spent my time beforehand enjoying life and not worrying about it. And, being an optimist, I would view the “negative” situation as an opportunity to grow and learn. So I can even look forward to my failures because they will be stepping stones, and learning tools to be applied to my future success. Have you ever met a successful pessimist? Become an optimist and see your world change before your eyes!
