Simply breakfast

Banana..ooh I love it. Love it love it love it. You can make anything out of banana and I will still like it=) Here's one fancy breakfast that you can make from banana. Tomorrow is Saturday morning, why not spend sometime eating some healthy and fancy breakfast? By fancy here I mean those pretty and good looking foods that you can make at home. I got this recipe of Oatmeal with Bruleed bananas from Veggiebelly. Sound delicious right? And don't worry too much about the word "bruleed" here because you can actually make it at your own kitchen, no restaurant kitchen gadet required.

Oatmeal with Bruleed Bananas (serves 1)

Ingredients:

1/2 cup oats
1 cup milk
1 small banana
2 tbsp brown sugar, more if you like it sweeter. You could also use regular white sugar.
1 tbsp butter, optional. I didnt use.
a tiny pinch of salt
1/8th scant tsp allspice or cinnamon or pumpkin spice

Directions:

  • Bring milk to boil, add oats and cook on medium heat for about 4 minutes (or cook the oats according to package instructions). Add sugar to oatmeal if desired.
  • Cut the banana into about 1/2 inch thick discs. Mix sugar, butter if using, salt and allspice/cinnamon/pumpkin spice. Place equal amounts of this mixture on top of cut banana discs. Gently pat the sugar mixture down so that it covers most of the banana disc. Using a creme brulee torch on low heat, brulee the sugar mixture just till it melts (see picture above). Take care not to burn the sugar.
  • To brulee without a creme brulee torch – Place banana slices topped with brown sugar mixture on a baking sheet. Place in the oven and broil on low just till the sugar melts and becomes golden. Be careful not to burn the sugar.

Chic Style

What do you think about the style below? I think all the clothes are amazingly wonderful and very chic. I love this kind of style. Very sophisticated but yet you can still show the feminine and the sexiness of a real lady inside you. Don't you think so? I love all of it. The hair, the accessories, the shoes, the make up..everything. In fact, I will use all of the sytles below as a guidance for chic style. (images from captivate me)

Positivity...

Positivity is very important. Not just for ourselves but also for other people. Have you heard that smiling is contagious? This one is too, I really believe that positive perception is also contagious, in a good way of course. For example, if you are friends with people who often have negative thoughts, they will surely often make you become a pessimist person. Because they are not very supportive in a way that they often discourage you when you want to do things. That's is why I think that we all have to be positive always, because later on, our positivity will have another positive impact for other people surrounding us. Here are the benefits of positive thinking...
-- Benefits of positive thinking --

1. Directs your focus
Positive thinking helps you focus on the solution rather than waste time and energy on negative emotions. This means you get yourself back on track faster and start thinking about what you can do instead of staying in a disempowering state and repeating the same negative emotions of irritation, regret and anger in your head.

2) Keeps you in control
Having positive thinking prevents you from making clouded judgments, foolish decisions or doing things that you will regret later – for example acting like a jerk or losing control. All of us are prone to reacting like that when in an angry or negative state. Don’t underestimate the impact of just making sure you stay in control and not do stupid things.

3) What you focus on, you attract
The Universe brings to you what you intend and focus on. If you are always negative and focus on the negative things, negativity is what you will experience in your life. If you have a positive mindset, you will attract and experience positive things in your life. As such, thinking positively is not just merely about directing the focus of your thoughts. Rather, it becomes a reality creation exercise. Through practicing positive thinking, you are creating a positive reality for yourself.

4) Expands your awareness and perception
Through practicing positive thinking, you will start seeing things in a different way, things that others are not able to see. This is because of the shift in mindset and focus. If a person is so used to being negative, he or she will only be able to see the negative side of things and miss seeing the good no matter how apparent it is. Once a mindset has been developed, it is difficult to perceive things that are outside of it’s realm of possibility. And it is not just about eliminating the negative perspective and focusing on the positives and opportunities for growth only. It is to being in a state where you are at peace and have faith, trust and know that whatever you are going through is an important experience, no matter how bad it is.(source from self-improvement-mentor - images via weheartit.com)

Serenity..

The last few days were tough for me. It's as if troubles always come and go. One problem solved, another comes along. I think I have to be in some place where the ambiance is very calming. Just like the one on the pictures below. I found the pictures from WannaSmile. The owner of the site called this places as Zen places. When I heard the word ZEN, my mind automatically think about sanctuary. A place where I can be alone and think about nothing. A place that I can throw troubles away and empty what's full, my mind it is. Brings back the fresh soul and mind.

Positive thinking ideas

Do you know anyone who never think positive? I always know that positive thinking can always bring positive output. Whatever the condition is, how bad things are, we can always count on our positive thoughts. It's not easy for some people who are often pessimist about things. But once you get used to think positive, you'll see the difference on how you perceive things and how you perceive the world around you. Here are some of the positive thinking ideas that you practice and you can use...
Positive thinking ideas
  • Smile - Wherever and whenever you can. The one thing in life that we should be infinitely generous in is in giving out our smiles. In addition to putting yourself in a positive state, you will also positively affect the people around you as well.
  • Read positive, motivational books or quotes - This is a fast and convenient way to put yourself in a positive state of mind.
  • Call a friend - Give an old friend a call and make it a point to talk only about positive things.
  • Get out of your usual environment - Go to the park or anywhere that is nice and peaceful. By being in a new or not frequently visited environment, you will not be affected by any negative association that you may have with a certain place, i.e. your office.
  • Work on your goal setting or review the goals that you have set.
  • Listen to uplifting and positive music - Well selected classical music or movie soundtracks will usually do the trick.
  • Read motivational and positive stories - For example, books like Chicken Soup For The Soul. Or just do a search on the internet for motivational stories.
  • Exercise - working out can encourage a positive state of mind. It helps to release stress and puts you in a heightened state of awareness which induces positive thinking.
  • Creative expression - creative expression through activities such as writing/journaling, drawing, painting, playing musical instruments, dancing, photography and others can encourage positive thinking. Take up lessons or regularly set aside some time for these activities.
  • Sing and dance along to your favorite song.
  • Enjoy a nice cup of afternoon tea or evening wine while putting on some soothing music in the background.

Nine words...

A friend of mine sent me an e-mail about this words that women often use. I am a woman and I absolutely know how sometimes we, women, often say those words to express the different feelings of what we have. For example, when women say "I'm okay"...we actually are saying that "I'm not really okay..." Do you agree with that? I don't know why but maybe it's kind of hard for women to really express their feelings compare to men. maybe it's because we often use our heart than our logical thinking. And most of the time we all want our partner to really understand us without us telling them how we really feel at the moment. Well, that's just my thoughts. But this article is quite fun. Do you really want to know what other words women often use but not entirely express their actual meaning? Below is the list. While I'm reading the list below..I can only smile and remembering someone who acts like that, more or less. Who could it be? Maybe myself, a friend of mind, other women... I don't know, I'm not gonna say =)
Nine Words Women Often Use Justify Full
  1. Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
  2. Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
  3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
  4. Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
  5. Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
  6. That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
  7. Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').
  8. Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!
  9. Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.
