Man and Woman

I was browsing and saw these cartoon pictures about man and woman. I'm sure all of you have heard about the topic of man and woman, "Men are from mars, Women are from Venus". The book is so famous and I happened to have read the book so many times. The main idea of the book is about the differences between man and woman. The analogy is like this, far away there's this planet called Mars and all of the citizens are men. And on the other side of the galaxy, there's this planet called Venus and all the women live there. One time through the telescope, a man and woman fell in love and decided to live together in a place called Earth. And so it begins. The adventures of living together begin from there on. They learned that in order for them to live happily together, they must be able to respect each other and also to always continue to learn the behaviours of one another.

I don't like to argue too much about who can take more role in this life as in the role of man and woman. I personally think we live and exist in this world to play our own role based on our capabilities. If woman should be a housewife, be the best housewife. If man should be a leader, be a good leader. And vice versa, if woman capable to be a leader, be a good one and if a man should be a stay-at-home dad, be a good daddy. As long as the role are in the right position and as along as the reason behind it is very reasonable, I don't mind about who's taking what position. And just like I said, whoever it is doing whatever the job is, always give the best effort to your job.

By showing you these pictures, I just want to say that husband should not be afraid of his wife and wife should not be afraid of her husband. I'm not telling you that you can do whatever it is that you want to do regardless your partner's rule. But what I'm trying to say is that, when you have a partner that you care so much, respect is the most important thing between the two of you. Compromise and communication are also important. Furthermore, we have our own personalities and habits to live our life. I think as long as we can have a good way of communication, respect to one another and able to compromise about everything, we will be able to make a very good and happy life with our partner.

Baked Mozzarella

One new recipe for you, to be tested this weekend. Can you smell the mozzarella? Hmmm yummy=)

Ingredients (Serves 2):

  • 8 ounce package of fresh mozzarella or smoked mozzarella, sliced
  • 8-10 cherry tomatoes, cut in half
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper
  • extra virgin olive oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven broiler.
  2. Grease a small ovenproof dish with a little extra virgin olive oil. Layer half of the mozzarella, then tomatoes, then garlic, then the rest of the mozzarella. Drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil.
  3. Place on the middle rack under your broiler for 5-7 minutes or until the mozzarella is melted and bubbly around the edges. Serve hot.
  4. When we were served this in Italy we just ate it straight out of the dish it was served in and it was delicious. But if you are not as obessed with mozzarella as I am, this is also great when served with a few toasted baguette slices. Also, this dish is best when it is kept hot otherwise the mozzarella starts to get hard, so try to find a dish that can keep the heat. Enjoy!

Wise words from Bill Gates...

Who doesn't know Bill Gates? I'm sure everyone knows him. A dropped out college student of Harvard University, who is now famous for being the founder and chairman of Microsoft, but he's also the generous philanthropist. What he has, he gives it back to the people who needs it. He always donate large amounts of money to various charitable organizations. He and his wife have a foundation called the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Here are some of his wise words for us and especially for those who are still in college. He shares his words in a not-so formal and funny way of saying it but we still can get the main idea of his 'wise' words. My favorite is Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one. I think this is so true.

  • Rule 1:Life is not fair-get used to it
  • Rule 2:The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
  • Rule 3:You will NOT make $40,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car phone until you earn both.
  • Rule 4:If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
  • Rule 5:Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping--they called it opportunity.
  • Rule 6:If you mess up, it's not your parent's fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
  • Rule 7:Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So before you save the rainforest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
  • Rule 8:Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you the test as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
  • Rule 9:Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.
  • Rule 10:Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
  • Rule 11:Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Annoying Things To Do On An Elevator

Oh My God..this is hilarious..Do you how it feels when you're in elevator with other people that you don't know and somehow it makes you feel awkard to do anything? I often feel that way. These are annoying things to do on an elevator. For sure I'm not brave enough to do any of these ha ha...Maybe other people will =p

  1. CRACK open your briefcase or handbag, peer Inside and ask "Got enough air in there?"
  2. STAND silent and motionless in the corner facing the wall without getting off.
  3. WHEN arriving at your floor, grunt and strain to yank the doors open, then act as if you're embarrassed when they open themselves.
  4. GREET everyone with a warm handshake and ask him or her to call you Admiral
  5. MEOW occasionally.
  6. STARE At another passenger for a while. Then announce in horror: "You're one of THEM" - and back away slowly
  7. SAY -DING at each floor.
  8. SAY "I wonder what all these do?" And push all the red buttons.
  9. MAKE explosion noises when anyone presses a button.
  10. STARE, grinning at another passenger for a while, then announce: "I have new socks on."
  11. WHEN the elevator is silent, look around and ask: "Is that your beeper?"
  12. TRY to make personal calls on the emergency phone.
  13. DRAW a little square on the floor with chalk and announce to the other passengers: "This is my personal space."
  14. WHEN there's only one other person in the elevator, tap them on the shoulder, then pretend it wasn't you.
  15. PUSH the buttons and pretend they give you a shock. Smile, and go back for more.
  16. ASK if you can push the button for other people but push the wrong ones.
  17. HOLD the doors open and say you're waiting for your friend. After a while, let the doors close and say "Hi Greg, How's your day been?"
  18. DROP a pen and wail until someone reaches to help pick it up, then scream: "That's mine!"
  19. BRING a camera and take pictures of everyone in the lift.
  20. PRETEND you're a flight attendant and review emergency procedures and exits with the Passengers.
  21. SWAT at flies that don't exist.
  22. CALL out "Group hug" then enforce it.

3 tips for you

Weekend is coming. I was just wondering how do you spend your weekend? For sure I can say I eat a lot on my weekend that somehow it can ruin my diet. Not that much but I eat more than my weekdays. For example, I don't eat dinner on my weekdays but on Saturday and Sunday I always have dinner. I never have dessert on my weekdays but on weekend I always indulge myself having a good dessert after meal. Aaaargh I hate it but when I think about it over and over again, I don't really care about it. You can eat all you want 2 out of 7 days of your week. Okay, why not? What do you think? Here's a quick tips for you (who are more or less like me).

3 Quick Tips So You Don’t Blow Your Diet This Weekend

1. Exercise!
No healthy lifestyle is complete without it. Exercise will boost your mood and decrease your risk of many cancers and heart disease. I wasn’t a believer in this until I tried it myself, and trust me, it works. Dieting without exercising will eventually bring your weight loss to a halt. You can start by walking around the block every day - just keep moving!

2. Don’t engage in “all-or-nothing” thinking.
You know what I mean - if you stay on your diet, you are “good” and if you make the slightest mistake, you’re “bad” and might as well throw everything away, so you go and eat everything in your pantry and tell yourself you’ll start tomorrow. Life doesn’t work like that. It’s not the one mistake that will do you in, it’s the giant binge that follows. Pick yourself up and keep going.

3. Stay motivated.
Whether it’s a picture of a fitness model you keep on your wall, or the idea of living to see your kids grow up, keep that in mind when you feel like you might stray. Keep focusing on the bigger picture when you start thinking “I can’t do this…it’s too hard.” You’ll be surprised at what you’re capable of. (source from marksdailyapple.com)
