After A While..

It's raining here in y place and out of nowhere I found this poem by Veronica A Shoffstall. It's quite hard to find the biography of her but for sure I love the poem she wrote back in 1971. The title is "After A While". Every words make sense. It's like learning a new wisdom in life. I can't say anything more about the poem. It's so worth to read.

After a while…
by Veronica A. Shoffstall (1971)

After some time you learn the difference,
The subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning,
And company doesn’t always mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts,
And presents aren’t promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats,
With your head up and your eyes ahead,
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads on today,
Because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn,
That even the sun burns if you get too much,
And learn that it doesn’t matter how much you do care about,
Some people simply don’t care at all.
And you accept that it doesn’t matter how good a person is,
She will hurt you once in a while,
And you need to forgive her for that.
You learn that talking can relieve emotional pain.
You discover that it takes several years to build a relationship based on confidence,
And just a few seconds to destroy it.
And that you can do something just in an instant,
And which you will regret for the rest of your life.
You learn that the true friendships,
Continue to grow even from miles away.
And that what matters isn’t what you have in your life,
But who you have in your life.
And that good friends are the family,
Which allows us to choose.

You learn that we don’t have to switch our friends,
If we understand that friends can also change.
You realize that you are your best friend,
And that you can do do anything, or nothing,
And have good moments together.
You discover that the people who you most care about in your life,
Are taken from you so quickly,
So we must always leave the people who we care about with lovely words,
It may be the last time we see them.
You learn that the circunstances and the enviroment have influence upon us,
But we are responsible for ourselves.

You start to learn that you should not compare yourself with others,
But with the best you can be.
You discover that it takes a long time to become the person you wish to be,
And that the time is short.
You learn that it doesn’t matter where you have reached,
But where you are going to.
But if you don’t know where you are going to,
Anywhere will do.
You learn that either you control your acts,
Or they shall control you.
And that to be flexible doesn’t mean to be weak or not to have personality,
Because it doesn’t matter how delicate and fragile the situation is,
There are always two sides.
You learn that heroes are those who did what was necessary to be done,
Facing the consequences.
You learn that patience demands a lot of practice.
You discover that sometimes,
The person who you most expect to be kicked by when you fall,
Is one of the few who will help you to stand up.
You learn that maturity has more to do with the kinds of experiences you had
And what you have learned from them,
Than how many birthdays you have celebrated.

You learn that there are more from you parents inside you than you thought.
You learn that we shall never tell a child that dreams are silly,
Very few things are so humiliating,
And it would be a tragedy if she belived in it.
You learn that when you are angry,
You have the right to be angry,
But this doesn’t give you the right to be cruel.
You discover that only because someone doesn’t love you the way you would like her to,
It doesn’t mean that this person doesn’t love you the most she can,
Beacuse there are people who love us,
But just don’t know how to show or live that.
You learn that sometimes it isn’t enough being forgiven by someone,
Sometimes you have to learn how to forgive yourself.
You learn that with the same harshness you judge,
Some day you will be condemned.

You learn that it doesn’t matter in how many pieces your heart has been broken,
The world doesn’t stop for you to fix it.
You learn that time isn’t something you can turn back,
Therefore you must plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure.
You really are strong .
And you can go so farther than you thougt you could go.
And that life really has a value.
And you have value within the life.
And that our gifts are betrayers,
And make us lose
The good we could conquer,
If it wasn’t for the fear of trying.

Blessings..

Below is such a wonderful piece of reading. It's one of those I can use as a "life guide", the one that I can read again and again just to make me feel better. Not only it has good words in it, but it consists of blessings. How good it is when people always have blessings for you? Blessing is much like a prayer...a good one of course. I feel complete when my parents bless me to do the things I want to do. Don't you feel that way too? So, here's the reading about blessing from John O'Donohue, a poet and philosopher. Have a blessed day =)

"For Equilibrium, a Blessing:
Like the joy of the sea coming home to shore,
May the relief of laughter rinse through your soul.

As the wind loves to call things to dance,
May your gravity by lightened by grace.

Like the dignity of moonlight restoring the earth,
May your thoughts incline with reverence and respect.

As water takes whatever shape it is in,
So free may you be about who you become.

As silence smiles on the other side of what's said,
May your sense of irony bring perspective.

As time remains free of all that it frames,
May your mind stay clear of all it names.

May your prayer of listening deepen enough
to hear in the depths the laughter of god."
— John O'Donohue

I carry your heart with me

This is my most favorite poems by EE Cummings. Every time I read this poem, I feel like floating in the air and every time I am in love, I always read this poem again and again. And this time...I think the reason I make this posting is because I feel the LOVE around me especially from my guy. I might have posted this before but I just can't help but post it again here. I hope all of you who read this can feel the love..

I carry your heart with me

I carry your heart with me
I carry it in my heart
I am never without it
anywhere I go you go, my dear;
and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling
I fear no fate
for you are my fate, my sweet
I want no world for beautiful you are my world,my true
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun
will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart
I carry it in my heart

Friendship

This is a really nice article from Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American essayist, philosopher, and poet, about Friendship. I really value my friendship with people. I always keep in mind that friendships are unconditional. I always try my best not to disappoint all of my friends and that means I value honesty and trust. When a friend lied to me, I can easily forgive him/her but it takes time for me to actually forget about the lies that he/she has done. People always say forgive and forget, I can apply that concept for me but it will more likely to be like this...forgive, forgive, forgive, let go, let go, let go and forget. So, here a poem and short writing about friendship. I love all the works of Ralph Waldo Emerson...and this new findings makes me love his works even more..

A ruddy drop of manly blood
The surging sea outweighs,
The world uncertain comes and goes,
The lover rooted stays.I fancied he was fled,
And, after many a year,
Glowed unexhausted kindliness
Like daily sunrise there.
My careful heart was free again, —
O friend, my bosom said,
Through thee alone the sky is arched,
Through thee the rose is red,
All things through thee take nobler form,
And look beyond the earth,
And is the mill-round of our fate
A sun-path in thy worth.
Me too thy nobleness has taught
To master my despair;
The fountains of my hidden life
Are through thy friendship fair.

Friendship may be said to require natures so rare and costly, each so well tempered and so happily adapted, and withal so circumstanced, (for even in that particular, a poet says, love demands that the parties be altogether paired,) that its satisfaction can very seldom be assured. It cannot subsist in its perfection, say some of those who are learned in this warm lore of the heart, betwixt more than two.

I am not quite so strict in my terms, perhaps because I have never known so high a fellowship as others. I please my imagination more with a circle of godlike men and women variously related to each other, and between whom subsists a lofty intelligence. But I find this law of one to one peremptory for conversation, which is the practice and
consummation of friendship. Do not mix waters too much. The best mix as ill as good and bad.

You shall have very useful and cheering discourse at several times with two several men, but let all three of you come together, and you shall not have one new and hearty word. Two may talk and one may hear, but three cannot take part in a conversation of the most sincere and searching sort. In good company there is never such discourse between two, across the table, as takes place when you leave them alone. In good company, the individuals merge their egotism into a social soul exactly co-extensive with the several consciousnesses there present.

No partialities of friend to friend, no fondnesses of brother to sister, of wife to husband, are there pertinent, but quite otherwise. Only he may then speak who can sail on the common thought of the party, and not poorly limited to his own. Now this convention, which good sense demands, destroys the high freedom of great conversation, which requires an absolute running of two souls into one.

Love after Love

I'm currently reading a book called The Time Traveler's Wife. I've been wanting to read this book since a while ago but the urge came to me just after I saw the trailer of the movie. There'll be a movie based on this book. Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams will play the leading role in the movie. So, when I first open the several first page, there's a poem of Derek Walcott. To be honest, this is the first time I heard about him and his work. On the book, you'll see a poem with the title of "Love after love". It is a really nice poem. Here's the poem. I leave the judgement to you. But for me, I really love it.

Love after Love

The time will come when, with elation you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror and each will smile at the other's welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat. You will love again the stranger who was your self.Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart. Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, the photographs, the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror. Sit. Feast on your life.

Woman..

I found this quotes of Kahlil Gibran about woman. You should read this and feel the meaning with all your heart. It reallyis Beautiful.

Woman…

Was created from the rib of a Man,

not from his head to be above him,

not from his feet to be walked upon,

but by his side to be equal,

near to his arms to be protected,

and closed to his heart to be loved…

Haiku

Haiku..what a word! Not because it means something super but it has been a word that I've been hearing a lot lately. I know that it has something to do with things such as poem but I don't actually know the real meaning of it. So, I looked up on the web to find out about it. Now I know about what it is and turns out that I'm a big fan of it. For me it's like making a very short poem but the meaning of it is so powerful. Want to know my first haiku? This is what I've made...hopefully it sounds good=) So,here goes my first one...

when my heart feels fear
worry burns my logic sense
that's when prayer comes
Here's the info about Haiku.

What is Haiku?
Haiku is one of the most important form of traditional Japanese poetry. Haiku is, today, a 17-syllable verse form consisting of three metrical units of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. Since early days, there has been confusion between the three related terms Haiku, Hokku and Haikai. The term hokku literally means "starting verse", and was the first starting link of a much longer chain of verses known as haika. Because the hokku set the tone for the rest of the poetic chain, it enjoyed a privileged position in haikai poetry, and it was not uncommon for a poet to compose a hokku by itself without following up with the rest of the chain.

How to Write a Haiku

  • Step 1
Think about a theme for your haiku and write down some of the words that come to mind on that theme.
  • Step 2
Organize your thoughts roughly onto three lines. First, set the scene, then expand on that by expressing a feeling, making an observation or recording an action. Keep it simple.
  • Step 3
Polish your haiku into three lines, the first with five syllables, the second line with seven syllables and the third line with five syllables. It may take some time and substitution of words to make it fit

Look at me

I found this poem, short, simple but meaningful for me. What do you think? It's like showing the unconditional Love. Showing your loved one that you'll be there for him no matter what. Good time, bad time, ups and down...whatever it is, I will be there...I promise U.

Look at Me
Look at me in your moments of despair;life is no easy life is not fair.
Look at me in your moments of loneliness;I can bring you peace and I can bring you happiness.
Look at me in your moments of sorrow;I am your today and I want to be your tomorrow.
Look at me in your moments of joy;life is also worth to be enjoyed.

This is Love...

I found this really nice words of love on Le Love. If you love romantic things, you should check out the blog, it's full of love love and love. The reason why I'm posting this is because...it's Friday...yay! Friday I'm love, Saturday I'm in love, Sunday I'm in love..It's a weekend fill up with tons of Love...

"As I sat in a crowded room full of strange faces, soberly observing, imagining the mysteries behind each set of unrecognizable eyes,I turned to see this smile.A sparkle in his eyes, his arms outstretched,in an instant our bodies were contiguous where, even over the thump, thump of the deafening beat, our hearts rang strong against one another.Tangled together,we were a pendulum amongst battered barstools and broken tables.Strangers' stories lay neglected and forgotten,a heap of mystery in a cold dark corner. For this is the only story that matters. It is kept safe and warm between our beating hearts.Eyes locked, we could not help but smile:"This is Love."

You are perfect..

Maybe you've noticed that lately I've been posting about the love I have with My boyfriend. Yes, these are the times when I can't stop saying how blessed I am for the relationship I have with my boyfriend. It's not the place where we go or what we're doing but it's the time I've spent just being beside him. Most of all, the best time when we're together is the time when we just fill the time doing nothing. Just lay down and talk about whatever comes up to our mind=) Whatever it is, I really hope that our love will grow stronger and what I want right now is only to LOVE him...as always. So, if you're reading this, I Love You Mesza...always have, always will

A Perfect Day With You

As I sit here thinking of you,Which is something I often do,I think of how you make me feel inside.
Loving you brings to me such pride,I love you deeper then the earths core;
Yet every second I find myself loving you more.
I love your smile, your laugh, your touch; Your kisses awaken my saddened heart.
I wait to see you pull in the drive,After all these years I still get that tingle inside,
I lay beside you at night, my arms around you;It is the perfect way to end the day through.
To wake up beside you at the sound of the alarm,It is now me who is in your arms,
I start each day perfect with seeing your face, I end each day perfect with you in my embrace.
All the time in between while we're apart;I miss you terribly, but it is a perfect day,
For I carry you in my heart.

Friday Love...

I am going to open this Friday morning with lots and lots of LOVE=) Last night I had the most wonderful night. All because of my boyfriend, to be exact, it's all because of our relationship that feels like being refresh and renew. The conversation between us last night was the most amazing conversation. We talked about the dreams we've had, we made jokes, reminiscing the times we've had and just remembering all the things we've been through. I am now the luckiest girl to have a boyfriend like him. I feel the LOVE...So, this is LOVE...

Here's one great poem I found just now...dedicated to my boyfriend whom I Love so much...

I want to be a lost poem in a stranger's coat pocket, that conveys the importance of you. To assure you of my desire, to assure you of dreams. I want all the possibilities of you in writing. I want to give you your reflection, I want your eyes on me, I want to travel to the lightness with you and stay there, and I want everything before you......everything before you to follow us like a trail behind me. I want never to say goodbye to you, even on the street corner or the phone.I want, I want so much... I'm breathless. I want to put my power into a poem to burn a hole in your pocket so I can sew it. I want my words to scream through you. I want the poem not to mean that much. And I want to contradict myself by accident, and for you to know what I mean. I want you to be distant and for me to feel you close, I want endless days when it's day and... night time never to end when it's night. I want all the seasons in one day. I want the sun to set before us and come up in front of us. I want water up to our waists and to be drenched by the rain, up to our ankles with holes in our shoes....with holes in our shoes. I want to think your thoughts because they're mine.

I want only what's urgent with you. I want to get in the way of the barriers and I want you to be a tough guy when you're supposed to, like you do already....when you're supposed to. And I want you to be tender, like you do already. And I want us to have met for a reason and I want that reason to be important. And I want it to be bigger than us, I want it to take over us. I want to forget. I want to remember us. And when you say you love me I don't want to think you really mean New York City, and all the funwe have in it. And I want your smile always, and your grimaces too. I want your scar on my lips, and I want your disappointments in my heart. I want your strength in my soul and I want your soul in my eyes. I want to believe everything you say, and I do. And I want you to tell me what's best when I don't know. And when you're lost I want to find you. And when you're weary I want to give you steeples and cathedral thoughts and coliseum dreams. I want to drag you from the darkness and kneel with you exhausted with the blinding light blaring on us... and..."

Good Morning

Hi everyone..Good Morning. How's your weekend? Good I hope=) So, Monday is here. Another new week. The weather here is not too friendly, it's a bit cloudy. But that doesn't ahve to make my day becomes a gloomy day. Today, I am going to let go of the things that happened last week (hopefully I will be strong enough to let go of the burden) and start a brand new day...

Spread your soul...your wings...your heart...

and ENJOY the brand new day=)

A BRAND NEW DAY

Rest your head and close your eyes. Everything will be okay. For when you wake with the sweet sunrise. It will be a brand new day. Turn down the lights and pull me close. Feel only the beating of our hearts as we lay. For when you wake with the soft morning breeze. It will be a brand new day. Relax your body and caress my soft hair. Let all of life's worries melt away. For when you wake with the warm summer scent. It will be a brand new day. Fall fast asleep and dream with me. Whisper "I love you, I'm here to stay". For when we wake in each other's arms. It will be a brand new day

Life as a book

In one article I read this statement: "The world is a book and every step turns a new page". Don't you think it's a very nice sentence? I do. When I read the sentence, I instantly had this thought about the various story in each book. And each book surely has its own different chapters with different flows of the story. Just like when we are choosing a book to read. Some people like to read a romantic story, some people choose history, some people read science fiction, some people read comic book and the list go on and on. I can picture life as a classroom. Each one of us has our own desk. The teacher called "LIFE". What we're being asked to do is to write down our special book with anythings that we want in our life. Anything related to life, you can write it down. Good and bad, up and down, left and right, black and white, you name it, you write it. The rule is not to complain about what you've written down. because I personally think there's no use to regret what you've done. What's done is done. If you don't like what you've done in the past, take it as a valuable lesson to learn. Next step is to fix what you've done wrong. Life is moving forward not backward.

Here's a small paragraph I've found on personal-development.com about life.
Sometimes all it takes is a visit to the park to reawaken our senses and spirit. If we let go of the cares of the day, we open ourselves to the beauty, wonder, awe, and mystery of life. If your day isn't brimming over with excitement and pleasure, a good start would be to look for things to be thankful for. Do this often enough and it becomes habitual. And later, you will no longer have to search for life's delights because you will be constantly stumbling over them throughout the day. Some would argue that far from being exciting, life is boring. They mistakenly believe that boredom is caused by external events or our environment. But boredom is not a result of outside events. It is caused by a decision to do nothing rather than something. Adventurers are engaged with life. They form a partnership with it, making things happen by taking action and delighting in the surprises that life brings our way.
These sentiments are well expressed in the following poem by writer, poet, and adventurer, William Henry Davies (1871 ~ 1940):

What is this life if, full of care,We have no time to stand and stare?
No time to stand beneath the boughs,And stare as long as sheep and cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty's glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.

Count your garden by the flowersnever by the leaves that fall.
Count your days by golden hoursdon't remember clouds at all.
Count the night by stars, not shadows.
Count your years by smiles, not tears.
And with joy on every birthday,Count your life by friends not years. -Rear Admiral R. H. Jackson-

In the book of life every page has two sides: we human beings fill the upper side with our plans, hopes and wishes, but providence writes on the other side, and what it ordains is seldom our goal. -- Nisami

If I feel...

How do I change?

If I feel depressed I will sing.
If I feel sad I will laugh.
If I feel ill I will double my labour.
If I feel fear I will plunge ahead.
If I feel inferior I will wear new garments.
If I feel uncertain I will raise my voice.
If I feel poverty I will think of wealth to come.
If I feel incompetent I will think of past success.
If I feel insignificant I will remember my goals.
Today I will be the master of my emotions.

Life is a Game … Play it

I believe that this poem really suitable for starting our brand new week by opening up Monday with a good mood. How's your weekend by the way? I hope it was good. When we're talking about life,I know that we'll never get to the end of the explanation on "what is life". Some people can define it in a short sentence, some will be able to explain it without a pause...on and on. But I found this short poem that I think really can explain about what life is.

WHAT IS LIFE?

Life is an Adventure … Dare it
Life is a Beauty … Praise it
Life is a Challenge … Meet it
Life is a Duty … Perform it
Life is a Love … Enjoy it
Life is a Tragedy … Face it
Life is a Struggle … Fight it
Life is a Promise … Fulfill it
Life is a Game … Play it
Life is a Gift … Accept it
Life is a Journey … Complete it
Life is a Mystery … Unfold it
Life is a Goal … Achieve it
Life is an Opportunity … Take it
Life is a Puzzle … Solve it
Life is a Song … Sing it
Life is a Sorrow … Overcome it
Life is a Spirit … Realize it

The Rain

It's raining here and I'm having a warm cup of tea. I found this short poem on rain. I like it when it's raining as long as I'm at home. But when it's rain while you're having some important things to do outside your house, then it would be a very complicated things to do. But I sometimes miss the time when I was a kid playing on the rain and have fun. Maybe it will be a fun things to do just to stand in the rain and enjoy every drops of the falling rain from the sky.

I See The Rain

I hear the rain falling
I see people walking in the rain
I feel the rain touching my face
I see rain, rain coming down
I see rain, rain coming down

As I walk I see people running to their cars
I see children jumping into mud puddles
As I walk in the rain I see rain, rain coming down
I see rain, rain coming down

I wonder if it will rain forever
Is it because god is sad?
Does god have a reason for rain?
I see rain, rain coming down

“Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby.” — Langston Hughes

Love Love Love

Near You
'Neath velvet cloth of night and shadows,my heart confessed its thoughts to the wind.
I could feel your smile from a distancewith the touch of your closeness profound.
The sun reached behind a fading sky,so the moon could take its proper place.
Day to darkness, brightened by the stars,
leaving upon the blue watersa shimmering portrait of your face.
You, with all your savoring sweetness, tenderly pierced the walls of my soulas you wove a new tapestry withthe golden threads of your hope and love.
Yesterday you offered me courage, today you endowed me with your strength.
Every moment together, a gift.
Every day a celebration of life. How lovely the music of your heart.
You are the air I breathe, sound I hearand the spirit that gently moves me.
I don't wish for the moon, I have the stars.

a really nice poem

The Imagination

Imagination sets us free,
From our limited world of reality,
It is like a bird, set free, to fly,
We let it run wild inside of us,
Exploding with fun and creativity,
We can be anything, Do anything,
Make anything we want,
Imagination gives us infinity,
To think in different ways,
Gain new perspectives,
And overflow with fresh ideas,
No one can describe nor count,
The unlimited possiblities of imagination,
It lives on forever,
no matter how old we get or how much time passes,
A pig with wings, a castle in the sky, Imagination
