Bento...

Look at these boxes..so cute. Hmm I am really sure that if children have this bento box for lunch, they will surely eat all of those foods inside it. Other than that it will be a smart way to hide those vegetables that kids usually don't like=)

Life is for living

I am back from my long weekend. How's your weekend everyone? Hope you had a great time. Here some points about life that are good to open the new week in our life. If somehow the time you have was not so good, just remember these simple but meaningful rules of living a life.

Life Is For Living : Live It
  • Never be awful to anyone, that person you were awful to may teach you the most.
  • Always remember...you are a somebody, God didn't take the time to create a nobody.
  • Always smile, you never know whose day you might be making.
  • Never 'forget' to say hi to anyone, never miss the chance to laugh or smile, never get too caught up in yourself that you forget to help others.
  • Never forget that you aren't the only one with problems, and most of all...never forget that when you feel like you only have one friend, that friend will remind you of all the others.
  • If you forget about all the bad things in life, the good will take over.
  • If fear is staring you in the face, close your eyes so you don't have to look at it.
  • Be yourself, you can't be anyone else...The best you can be is you!

Ten Spiritual Tonics

What's your favorite number? I love number 3 and 10. Why 3, because I'm a third child, I was born on Wednesday (in which I consider as the third day of the week) and the last reason is that I always think that there are always three side of something. For example, left-middle-right, young-mature-old, black-gray-white. Does it sound silly to you? I don't know but those are just my thoughts. The reason why I love number 10 is because I have 10 fingers, 10 seems to always be the perfect score for everything and last but not the least, 10 is the anniversary date of my boyfriend and I. So I'm calling it as lucky #10. And the list below can also be the reason why I love number 10. Here are the ten spiritual tonics for you...

Ten Spiritual Tonics from Abraham L. Feinberg.
  1. Stop worrying. Worry kills life.
  2. Begin each day with a prayer. It will arm your soul.
  3. Control appetite. Over-indulgence clogs body and mind.
  4. Accept your limitations . . .
  5. Don't envy. It wastes time and energy.
  6. Have faith in people. Cynicism sours the disposition.
  7. Find a hobby. It will relax your nerves.
  8. Read a book a week to stimulate imagination and broaden your views.
  9. Spend some time alone for the peace of solitude and silence.
  10. Try to want what you have, instead of spending your strength trying to get what you want.

Haiku

Haiku..what a word! Not because it means something super but it has been a word that I've been hearing a lot lately. I know that it has something to do with things such as poem but I don't actually know the real meaning of it. So, I looked up on the web to find out about it. Now I know about what it is and turns out that I'm a big fan of it. For me it's like making a very short poem but the meaning of it is so powerful. Want to know my first haiku? This is what I've made...hopefully it sounds good=) So,here goes my first one...

when my heart feels fear
worry burns my logic sense
that's when prayer comes
Here's the info about Haiku.

What is Haiku?
Haiku is one of the most important form of traditional Japanese poetry. Haiku is, today, a 17-syllable verse form consisting of three metrical units of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. Since early days, there has been confusion between the three related terms Haiku, Hokku and Haikai. The term hokku literally means "starting verse", and was the first starting link of a much longer chain of verses known as haika. Because the hokku set the tone for the rest of the poetic chain, it enjoyed a privileged position in haikai poetry, and it was not uncommon for a poet to compose a hokku by itself without following up with the rest of the chain.

How to Write a Haiku

  • Step 1
Think about a theme for your haiku and write down some of the words that come to mind on that theme.
  • Step 2
Organize your thoughts roughly onto three lines. First, set the scene, then expand on that by expressing a feeling, making an observation or recording an action. Keep it simple.
  • Step 3
Polish your haiku into three lines, the first with five syllables, the second line with seven syllables and the third line with five syllables. It may take some time and substitution of words to make it fit
