blueberry...

Those of you who are reading this must have a clue that I am now craving of blueberry. Just about a week ago I was really craving for chocolate (as always) and on the weekend I had the best chocolate truffles with rum=) I guess this weekend it's time to satisfy my craving for blueberry. I am thinking of eating on this famous pancake restaurant in town and having a blueberry cheese pancake. Now I'm mouth-watering ha ha. So here I am browsing for blueberries pictures while at the same time searching for the health benefits of this little purple-black fruit. I just found out that there are approximately 30 different species of blueberries, wow, that's new info for me,considering all this time I just knew one type of blueberry. If you read the benefits below, you sure can say that this tiny fruit brings delivers big influence for our health.


Here are the health benefits of blueberry:

  • Researchers with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, they may be helpful in lowering cholesterol levels
  • Blueberries came out on top, rating highest in their capacity to destroy free radicals. Packed with antioxidant phytonutrients called anthocyanidins, blueberries neutralize free radical damage to the collagen matrix of cells and tissues that can lead to cataracts, glaucoma, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, peptic ulcers, heart disease and cancer.
  • Researchers have found that blueberries help protect the brain from oxidative stress and may reduce the effects of age-related conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia.
  • Blueberries can help relieve both diarrhea and constipation.
  • They keep you fresh, active, fit, sharp, close to nature and in a good mood, as they are very good anti depressants. You also need not spend a lot on medicines, neither are there any side effects. Here, there is an interesting thing to know. The deeper the color of the Blue Berries, the more they are rich in anti oxidants and other medicinal values.

Mmmm I love Blueberries. Can you believe I only barely had blue berries for the first time about 6 years ago. Yep I always assumed I wouldn't like them. Oh and since then, I swear I could probably live off them.

Really..6 years ago? I didn't like blueberries that much before but I don't know why I am now kinda addicted to it..ha ha..and the other berries fruit...

Oh my gosh, strawberry shortcake and blueberry posts....I'm craving them now! There is a pick your own blueberry farm nearby, I'll have to find out when it's open!
