LOVE your body..

Loveyourbody.nowfoundation.org has done a contest with a theme of the beauty of a woman. It is the website of The National Organization for Women Foundation ("NOW Foundation") which is an organization devoted to furthering women's rights through education and litigation. The above pictures are the winners of the 2009 poster contest. Those posters are really encouraging women to love their body and mind just they way it is. I think it's important especially in this modern world where women can get easily done a plastic surgery just so the society will consider them as pretty. But what good will it be if your heart is not pretty? Beauty comes from the inside. If you have a really kind heart and the a beautiful heart, you will glow and people will say "You are beautiful" =)

Here's what it says about woman

Do you love what you see when you look in the mirror?
Hollywood and the fashion, cosmetics and diet industries work hard to make each of us believe that our bodies are unacceptable and need constant improvement. Print ads and television commercials reduce us to body parts — lips, legs, breasts — airbrushed and touched up to meet impossible standards. TV shows tell women and teenage girls that cosmetic surgery is good for self-esteem. Is it any wonder that 80% of U.S. women are dissatisfied with their appearance? Women and girls spend billions of dollars every year on cosmetics, fashion, magazines and diet aids. These industries can't use negative images to sell their products without our assistance.
Together, we can fight back.

I am very pleased with myself, sounds a little self-centered when I say it! But it shouldn't be that way at all, you're right - a pox on the media!!! The only time lately that I am not satisfied with my appearance is when I require a change in health. For example, from late 2007 to early 2009, I lost 91 pounds. I've always been quite skinny, but during 2004 - 2007 I gained 97 pounds from taking a specific medication. So now, I look in the mirror, back to my old self, but I'm still not satisfied with my weight because I know that to be very healthy, I really should lose about 10 more pounds, but that's based on my body mass index, not based on what society thinks of my belly fat!!!

Hi Rain..Wow...you did great..you've lost so many pounds. I happened to lost my weight too for the last two years. I lost 30 pounds and now I am proud of what I am. And it's true that if you want to lose weight, you really have to do it because of the health reason of your body. Not just because of the other people's perception.

Thanks! There were times when I wanted to give up, but in the end, that fat wasn't meant to be on my body. Congrats on your weight loss too! I wish people would take their weight more seriously.
