A villa on Lake Como

I've seen this villa quite a while ago and fell in love because it's so beautiful. But I just found out that this villa is Gianni Versace’s (1946 – July 15, 1997), the oh-so famous Italian fashion designer and founder of an international fashion house, Gianni Versace S.p.A. The villa is located on Lake Como (30 miles from Milan). For 20 years, this yellow 19th century villa was Versace's favourite house and weekend retreat as well as the scene of glamorous weekend parties attended by guests including Diana, Princess of Wales, Madonna, Sting and Elton John.
The house of Versace: Neo-classical Art Brilliance

This villa is surely a collector’s favorite with plenty of neo-classical styled accessories and furnishings. the house is full of classic art work that includes stucco casts of Antonio Canova’s Pair Of Pugilists estimated to be worth up to £40,000, a pair of cherry-wood bookcases by Karl Roos worth £120,000 and a previously unseen painting by 18th-century artist Johann Zoffany. Sotheby's is auctioning off 550 lots from Villa Fontanelle, including huge classical statues of naked wrestlers, furniture and paintings, expected to fetch more than £2 million in total.

Wow, now that is decadence! I don't think the naked statues would fit my decor! :-)
